Canggu Destination Guide
Bali Villa Collection – Canggu
Canggu in Bali is certainly the place to be for surfers. With it’s black-sand beaches, and great surf-breaks, Canggu attracts surfers from all over the world. It’s also a great area for families, with its quiet, coastal village atmosphere and attractions – with that little bit of culture and history thrown in, for good measure.
Finns Recreation Club will keep you and your friends or family occupied for hours, if not days, with its trampoline centre, waterpark, bowling, tennis and much more. And if you happen to love horses, you’ll also love the Bali Equestrian Centre.
Otherwise, throw yourself into a local cooking class or a little jewellery making, or simply enjoy the casual, relaxed dining and nightlife.

What To See & Do
If you’re a keen surfer, you’ll definitely want to check out Echo Beach, otherwise known as ‘Pantai Batu Mejan’.
Families can enjoy the Splash Waterpark, which spans 2,400 sq m and offers plenty of fun, with the 90-metre-long slide, with an integrated speedometer that tracks your time, and allows up to four people to race. For the younger kids, there are plenty of fun rides, a shallow lagoon and mini slides, suitable for toddlers. Conveniently located within Finns Recreation Club, you’ll find plenty of other activities to keep the kids amused too.
The shopping in Canggu offers a great mix of everything from surf stores to homeware galleries. You won’t find a big shopping centre, but you will find some interesting stores along the main beach roads of Batu Bolong, Echo Beach and Berawa. Try Bungalow Living for traditional homewares.
You or the kids might also enjoy a pony ride or riding lesson at Bali Equestrian Centre, with the convenience of an on-site restaurant, swimming pool and playground.
If you’re after some culture, head to Tanah Lot Temple, 12km southeast of Canggu Beach. You’ll also enjoy picturesque rice fields and scenery as you travel around and explore.
The nightlife is certainly more relaxed than Seminyak but still offers plenty of options to chill-out, enjoy a drink and enjoy the evening while listening to DJ’s.
What To Eat
When you’re done with the surfing, shopping and activities, you can re-fuel in some of Canggu’s incredible array of dining options, suitable for any style and budget.
For families, you can’t go past The Joglo Bali, featuring healthy Mediterranean and Indonesian meals, fresh cold-pressed juices and great coffee. It’s onsite playground will keep the little ones amused, while you relax and admire the view.
For an authentic Bali experience, spend an evening at Dandelion Restaurant on Batu Bolong Street. The traditional dishes and regular traditional Balinese dance performances is great for both couples and families.
You’ll also find plenty of beach clubs and surfer-style shacks for that refreshing drink or casual meal.
How To Get Around
There is plenty to see and do within easy walking distance of Canggu’s luxury resorts, providing you’re happy to utilise the beach to get between the main streets.
